Husky Howl Reminders

The Husky Howl Halloween Carnival is this Friday, October 28! Wristbands and tickets are being sold in-person at the bus loop before school from 8:00-9:00 am and after school from 2:30-4:00 pm until Thursday. Wristbands and tickets will also be sold in front of the MPR at the Husky Howl.

Husky Wear Deliveries

For those of you that ordered Husky Wear through our earlier pre-sales, we are scheduling them to be delivered to classrooms on Tuesday, November 1.

If you are able to help sort, fill, and deliver the orders to the classrooms, please sign up on our SignUpGenius.

Update November 1, 2022: Delivery has been delayed from Tuesday, November 1, to instead Thursday, November 3.

Robeks Smoothies Fundraiser Reminder

Robeks will be selling their strawberry and mango smoothies at the front gate flag pole from 2:55-3:25 pm this coming Monday, October 31 (Halloween). $3 cash only. 20% of proceeds go back to Hedenkamp PTA.

Yearbook and Photos Reminders

Early bird pricing on the 2022-2023 Yearbook ends December 31.

Don’t forget to e-mail your photos or share your online photo albums to yearbook@huskiespta.com! Photos of Spirit Days, the recent CVESD 130th Celebration, upcoming Husky Howl, etc.

Nominating Committee for 2023-2024 PTA Elections

We are looking for parent members to serve on the Nominating Committee for the 2023-2024 PTA Elections. Our PTA Elections will be held on March 24, 2023, at 6:00 pm virtually on Zoom. Nominating Committee duties include: interviewing candidates, attending January and March 2023 General Association meetings, preparing ballots and other materials pertaining to the election (templates provided), and most importantly, counting the vote.

Note, must be a PTA member for the current school year and no person on the Nominating Committee can run for a PTA Executive Board position.

The first Nominating Committee meeting will be on January 10, 2023, at 6:30 pm virtually on Zoom.

Husky Howl

The annual Husky Howl carnival is back!

The Husky Howl will take place on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Hedenkamp Elementary. The carnival will include music, carnival games, face painting, photo booth, a game truck, balloon artist, local food vendors, oversized inflatables, and more.

Ticket Prices

  • Carnival games: 1-2 tickets (play and win 2x in a row to upgrade prizes!)
  • Balloon artist, face painting: 3 tickets
  • Game truck (15 minutes): 3 tickets
  • Photobooth (2 strips): 4 tickets
  • Photobooth (additional strips): 2 tickets
  • 8 inflatables: Wristband
  • Glow-in-the-dark items: Tickets only
  • School-ran food booths: Tickets only
  • Vendors and food trucks: Cash or credit card only

Pre-Sales Online

  • Pre-sale online of wristband and tickets will take place on Monday, October 17 – Sunday, October 23, on our PTA Web Store. We highly recommend taking advantage of the pre-sale by purchasing your wristbands and/or tickets early so you and your family can avoid waiting in line! Pre-sale will have options of being delivered to the student’s classroom or a “will-call” option (pay in advance and pickup at table).
  • Will call pickup options:
    • Thursday, October 20, from 2:50-3:30 pm
    • Monday, October 24 – Thursday, October 27, during in-person sales times
    • During Husky Howl, Friday, October 28

Pre-Sales In-Person

Pre-sale in-person of wristband and tickets will take place on Monday, October 24 – Thursday, October 27, at the bus loop, before school from 8:00-9:00 am, and after school, 2:30-4:00 pm.

Pre-Sales Pricing

  • Wristband – $18
  • Wristband and 5 tickets – $20
  • Ticket – $1 each

Night of Sales

  • Wristbands and tickets can still be purchased the night of the Husky Howl on Friday, October 28, in front of the MPR.
  • Night of pricing:
    • Wristband – $20 (increase of $2 from pre-sale)
    • Ticket – $1 each

Payments Accepted:

  • Credit card (plus processing fees)
  • PayPal (plus processing fees)
  • Cash
  • No refunds. All sales are final.

Note – A wristband is not required to attend the event. Entrance is free, but the activities, etc. require either a wristband, ticket, or payment depending on the activity, etc.

Husky Howl Volunteers Still Needed!

As excited as we are to have a huge event such as the Husky Howl to return, it can only happen with the support of our Husky community. We are still in need of volunteers from families, Husky student alumni, and community to help make the Husky Howl a treat, and not a trick. Any time you can contribute is helpful and appreciated!

Hedenkamp Elementary’s Scholastic Fall Book Fair will be held in the MPR on:

  • Monday, September 19 – Thursday, September 22: 8:15-9:00 am, 1:30-4:00 pm.
  • Friday, September 23: 8:15-9:00 am.
  • The dates/times above are open to our Husky Community.
  • Students might also visit the Book Fair with their Teacher/Class as part of their school day.
