How it works:
Create an account for each child,
…or invite family and friends to contribute.
Shop the Book Fair.
Spend unused funds online or fund an eWallet for your next Fair!
After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds are not returned to a credit card but instead, become a gift card balance that can be used online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.

Scholastic Fall Book Fair Volunteers
We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair next week, from Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23.
The Scholastic Book Fair empowers our students to choose books they love, and with so many options, they’re sure to find themselves in the pages. We hope that you can offer your time and talents to help students become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers – which in turn makes them bolder, prouder, and stronger individuals. And since every purchase benefits our school, helping is twice as rewarding.
Cleared Volunteers can sign-up for as many time-slots as available.
Non-Cleared Volunteers can volunteer a maximum of 2 days. This only applies if the slots are during school hours. Before and after school slots have not limits.
Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) students can volunteer to help with the book fair. They have to follow the same volunteer guidelines as adult volunteers. Student volunteers can help with the trinket table, manning the traffic at the door, and helping students. Students can not sign up for the cash register slots.
As a token of our appreciation, volunteers can select 1 book ($15 max) of their choice. 1 book max per book fair. Only volunteers signed-up will receive a book.
Early bird pricing of $30 for the 2022-2023 Hedenkamp Elementary Yearbook is available now until December 31st! You also have the option to personalize the front of the yearbook with a name for an additional $5. Order a yearbook now at huskiespta.com/yearbook.

Robeks will come again this Monday, September 19 (which isn’t part of the “every other week” pattern) to sell strawberry and mango flavored smoothies, in front of the school, but this time at 1:55 pm (minimum day dismissal time for 1st-6th grade, due to Parent/Teacher Conferences). Please note that quantities are limited.
Our National PTA hosts a Teacher Talk Miniseries “Notes from the Backpack” podcast. Episode 61 is on Supporting Children through School Transitions, featuring guest Deborah Farmer Kris. Whether your child is struggling to get out the door in the morning, experiencing anxiety in the classroom or melting down when they get home, Deborah has advice to ease your back-to-school transition.
Robeks will be selling strawberry and mango flavored smoothies again this coming Monday, September 12, after school from 2:55-3:25 pm, in between the kinder loop and the main parking lot. Smoothies are $3 each (cash only please). Robeks sold out of their 120 smoothies last time! After this Monday, the next time Robeks will come out will be on October 17 (due to the upcoming Fall Break and Teacher Prep Day).
Board & Brew Fundraiser
Spread the word to your friends and family to have Board & Brew (Eastlake location at 1610 Millenia Avenue) for dinner (and/or a nightcap) on Tuesday, September 13, between 4:00-8:00 pm. You can even call ahead and place your order for easy pick up.

VP of Fundraising
We have 1 position left on our Executive Board to fill – VP of Fundraising. Most of our fundraisers are already established, and you will be working with a great team in overseeing and reporting on the events. Description of the VP of Fundraising duties can be found on capta.org. Please contact Mrs. Odalis Lee for more information or if interested: firstname.lastname@example.org
PTA Membership Drive
From September 12-23, visit our Membership page to become a PTA member. For as little as $10 a year, your membership helps fund all the amazing programs and resources such as school dances, library books, assemblies, computers, teacher grants, staff appreciations, and much more! We are currently at 100 members, with a goal of 400 members. Students will receive incentives as we reach towards our 400 members goal. Together, we make our school a community!
Reminder – Yearbook Photos
Get your pictures in the yearbook! All grades are included in the yearbook so we need your help. If you have great photos of school events like 1st day of school, award ceremonies, Apex Fun Run, Food Truck Family dine-in, sports tryouts, Safety Patrol, classroom activities, etc., email them to: email@example.com.
We can’t be everywhere to take pictures so help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific yearbook to remember this school year!
